Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi has reportedly attracted strong interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce who are eager to strengthen their backline before the transfer window shuts close at the end of the month.

Hegazi has played every minute for West Brom in the English Championship this season following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 27-year-old initially joined the Baggies on-loan from Al Ahly before the club made the move permanent in January of this year. Hegazi has racked up 47 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring two goals.

According to reports, Fenerbahce have identified three centre-backs to boost their ranks with Hegazi alongside Stoke City’s Bruno Martins Indi and former Porto defender Diego Reyes on the club’s wish-list.

Hegazi attracted interest from Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United and Wolves over the past few months, but decided to remain at the Hawthorns as they set their sights on promotion back to the top division.

West Brom currently sit in third place on the log standings having accumulated seven points from four matches. They next face top of the table Middlesbrough on Friday evening.
