Ex-Liverpool and England striker Steve McManaman says Egyptian attacker, Mohamed Salah’s movement is brilliant and he will continue to score goals for the Reds.
He also praised the partnership between Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, saying the Pharaohs international can score 25 goals every season.
Salah’s been in significant form since joining the Reds last summer which helped him become his team’s top scorer with 29 goals.
The tally takes him to just one goal away from being the 13th player in Liverpool’s history to score 30 goals in a single campaign.
“When you watched him at (AS) Roma over the past few years he predominantly played out wide because they had a traditional centre forward in Edin Dzeko, and they complemented each other. At Liverpool, it’s different,” McManaman told the Times.
“Even though he may start wide in a front three with Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mané, their movement and flexibility is excellent, so you can’t really call him an out-and-out winger.
“If anything, he has more of a roving No 9 role.
“His movement in tight spaces is brilliant as well. I saw him a lot for Roma but he has moved on to another level since arriving at Liverpool, maybe it is because he has a bit of freedom from the manager, or just because the front three have the freedom to roam about and go wherever they feel dangerous.
“You see him dropping into spaces because he always knows a team-mate is further forward and his link-up play is exceptional.”
